Music Fan Hopes to Bring Summer Concert to London

A London-based event organizer and music fan has started a crowdfunding campaign to bring a fan sponsored concert to the city in Summer 2016. The idea behind the concert began after the organizer attended a Litesound concert in Amsterdam and got to know the duo behind the group. Comprised of Belarusian music artists and brothers, Dmitry and Vladimir Karyakin, Litesound was featured in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. The song they entered, “We Are the Heroes”, became a fan favorite.

The group has garnered many accolades, including the 2012 Eurostar Award, Song of the Year Award in 2008 and 2009, and the 2015 People’s Music Choice Award. Litesound’s fan base is solid in Belarus, and they have also earned the attention of music goers while performing in Belgium, Portugal, Holland, and Italy. They’re looking to expand their audience, and hope to make that happen by giving their first performance in the UK at the proposed summer concert.

In addition to Litesound, the event organizer hopes to showcase another former entrant in the Eurovision UK Song Contest. This music act will be announced once more details about the event are settled and funding has been secured.

To help ensure that the concert goes off without a hitch, a crowdfunding campaign has been started on the website Indiegogo. There are many costs involved in putting together any event, and a music concert demands a suitable venue, travel costs, and promotion among other expenses.

There are three levels of sponsorship for donors: 50, 100, and 200 GBP. Each level comes with its own perks, including acknowledgement in the concert program, complimentary drinks, free tickets to the concert, and the chance to attend at an artist meet and greet. Since this is a fan-run concert, gathering the money needed to make the show happen from music lovers seems quite appropriate.

Along with the bands that have entered the Eurovision Song Contest, the aim of the concert is to bring up and coming artists to fans of independent music. Finding hidden gems among all of the mainstream acts today can be a challenge, and should this concert be a success, it may be the avenue to giving talented indie musicians the exposure they need to grow a fan base and earn success.
